What up gang!
I hope you all have had lovely weeks since I wrote to you last. I am getting excited to be in the same time zone as you all again in T-minus 10 days. That’s wild. I can’t believe that it’s my last official week of ministry here, before we have a couple days to debrief.
This last week of ministry has been awesome. We have gotten really close with our ministry host Apen. Twice a day we start and end the day by singing that Moonbeam Ice Cream song that’s trending right now and she sings along every time. She lives above the bookstore and one day this week we finished early so she let us all take naps on her bed and it felt like we were all at a little sleepover. She really has been such a gift and such a light and makes us laugh every day. She has helped provide us all with much softer servant hears because she is so willing and joyful in sorting this books and it’s definitely rubbed off on all of us. I am very grateful for her and the other girls on my team.
God is continuing to teach me dependency on him and that I cannot fix everything for everyone else, as obvious as that sounds. Through some conflict with people at home I was forced to deal with confrontation and conflict which are some of my least favorite things as some of you know well, as well as come to the realization that I can’t fix said conflict and that is ok. I was reminded of Isaiah 43:2 during this time – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers they will not overtake you. When you walk through the fire you will not be scorched nor will the flame burn you.” I was reflecting on how loved we are to have a creator that cares. That cares about where we are going to live and who we are going to be in community with, and how we are feeling. What a good good father, and thank God I don’t have to do it by myself cause that never seems to go well. And even though it is difficult in the moment praise him that he has a sovereign plan in it all and I have seen that come to fruition in my life before so I can trust that he will do it again.
As we go into our last week of ministry I am hoping to have meaningful conversations with the people we meet here. I am hoping to continue to bless Apen and the ActsCo bookstore as we work. I am also praying for unity for our team and what my role looks like in that, as we have been living with each other for 7 weeks now and intentionality has faded. Love you all!
Please pray for:
- Health for the team
- Intentional conversations with people we meet and within our own team
- That God would prepare our hearts for debrief and travel home
- That the books we sort would reach the hearts of people
